Question of the Week – What is your all-time favorite shade of blush?

lipstickleague - final

Answer – PLEASE DON’T MAKE ME PICK ONE!  I hate it when people sit on the fence with a direct question like this… Erm, ok… I can do this.  I just need about 20-minutes to think about it…

Ok.  I’m ready.  Either Bare Minerals Promise or Cargo Tonga.  I got it down to two… but I do love NARS Deep Throat aswell. (step away from the keyboard and stop typing).

Question of the Week – A $50 gift certificate from Sephora magically appears on your desk. It’s going to disappear from your desk if you don’t use it within the next hour. What are you going to buy?

lipstickleague - final

Answer: – EASY!  I would get a Bite Beauty Cashmere Lip Cream for Autumn… probably Sancerre, leaving enough money to get a Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner in charcoal grey.  Now, who’s got the money?  No-one?  Oh well, on with the league…

Prime Beauty – issues a GUSH ALERT for the Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con Eyeshadow Palette in Starlet. She hasn’t been this verklempt since her teen crush on Bobby Sherman in the 70’s.

Lipglossiping – contemplates the pros and cons of finding a perfume that bridges the gap between your teenage tastes and your current loves.

My Beauty Bunny – Get beautiful from the inside out by drinking your water! We’ve got a giveaway to add some pizzazz to your H2O and some cash to your wallet – Win $100 Plus All 6 Stur Drinks!

Question of the Week – Do you ever fall into a beauty rut? If so, what types of things help to pull you out of it?

lipstickleague - final

Answer: – Yes, but I kinda like my beauty ruts… they only come about by gaining confidence in the fact that a certain “look” flatters me.  That’s never a bad thing!  I usually get experimental again after a wee while without the need for any intervention!

Question of the Week – How did you arrive at your current eyebrow shape? Were you born with those brows, did you get them professionally shaped or did you shape them yourself? And are you happy with them?

lipstickleague - final

Answer: – I can’t even tell you how hard I’ve worked to get this arch!  I’d plucked my brows into oblivion throughout my twenties and it was only when I started beauty blogging and seeing all the lush brows on other bloggers that I vowed to do something about it.  I put down my tweezers and didn’t pick them up again.  At first, they simply wouldn’t grow in (except for in the places that made them look untidy).  I got them threaded every month and bided my time.  After about 14 months, I started to develop the kind of thickness that I’d longed for… nothing too heavy but enough to define my face.  Here’s what they used to look like (filled in) and here they are now (not filled in).

Nouveau Cheap – Wet n Wild just released three new eyeshadow trios and a line of textured nail polishes. Have you seen them yet? If not, take a peek!

EauMG – is high on perfume this week (it’s OK, she’s in Washington state). Here’s EauMG’s guide to marijuana perfumes. These unusual perfumes contain a cannabis accord or are inspired by the substance. Don’t walk on the grass. Wear it.

Gouldylox Reviews – Curious if the Marc Jacobs line is worth the hype? I’ve got pictures, swatches and details!

Lipglossiping – feels the mercury rising with this spicy little number from Glitter Gal Cosmetics. Guaranteed to get you hot under the collar!

Question of the Week – Have you ever had your makeup done by a professional makeup artist? If so, tell us a bit about the experience(s).

lipstickleague - final

Answer: – Yes!  I’ve been extremely fortunate and have had my makeup done by some very talented professionals.  My favourites have included Cesar Santos for Giorgio Armani and David Scheffen for NARS who both blew me away by teaching me some cheeky little techniques to suit my particular colouring/face shape that I’ve since used to improve my makeup application 100%.

My Beauty Bunny – They say living well is the best revenge – and your nails will be living in style when painted with a polish from NCLA’s Sweet Revenge Collection. Come take a peek!

Nouveau Cheap – Drugstore polishes that look like Vintage Leather on the nail? Yep, and they’re from Maybelline!

Prime Beauty – was gobsmacked when she had the opportunity to have her hair styled by big-time British celebrity hairdresser Mark Hill. Mark has crossed the pond and launched his salon professional line in Walgreen’s!

Question of the Week – Is there a beauty trend that is “out” that you wish were “in”? If so, what is it?

lipstickleague - final

Answer – I really don’t follow trends that much. I suppose I’ve always longed for holographic nail polishes to hit the big time and have their day on the high-street… that hasn’t happened in the UK yet.

Lipglossiping – desperately wanted to love her new Lime Crime Velvetine but when lip and velvet met, things didn’t stay pretty for long!

My Beauty Bunny – Looking for a great post-workout towelette? We’ve got the details on Yogi Wipes – a cruelty-free choice that cleanses, refreshes and nourishes skin.

Nouveau Cheap – Claire’s can be fun for an inexpensive jewelry fix, but did you know they also sell macaroni & cheese and french fry-flavored lip balms? I reviewed them both, if you’re curious (you know you are).

Pink Sith – wants to show you the two new nail polishes from the NARS Fall 2013 collection, but fears you may label her nail art as a pinterest fail.

Phyrra – says it’s time to rejoice! New Sugarpill Sparkle Baby and Cold Chemistry is coming soon. See her swatches & tutorials.

lipstickleague - final

Answer: – My most coveted, least-used item is probably my Clarisonic.  It’s not that I don’t like it… it’s just that I don’t have anywhere near the sink that I can plug it in to keep it charged.  Such a pain in the arse.

Gouldylox Reviews – has found a mascara that gives long, lush lashes that no summer fling can resist!

Question of the Week – When it comes to nail care, how often do you moisturize your cuticles? Do you prefer balms, creams or oils to get the job done?

lipstickleague - final

Answer: – It’s the one part of my nailcare routine that suffers the most… I try to oil them when I remember which is usually at the point of polish removal but really… I should be doing it every evening.  My nails are very dry and as a result, prone to peeling.  Must. Try. Harder.  Oh, and oils… definitely oils!
