It’s glittery, gritty and a whole load of bling.
I just dunno…
Applied over the top of a bog standard dark base, 1 coat… this stuff is pretty dense. One thing that annoys me about glitters is their often uneven application. Yano, 2 pieces of glitter at the nail tip 43843243290 at the base. The good thing about this polish is that it gives you long enough to ‘push’ the pieces around and ‘place’ them before it dries. The bad thing? Well, that also means that it taes a little while longer than I’d like to dry. I know, contrary right?
This mixture of gold and silver glitter a.k.a BB Sands comes from the Lancome Spring 2010 collection though it kinda screams Christmas to me. I’d love to layer this over a cream/nude base to see if I get a different look from it… but removal was such a pain in the backside that I’m honestly not sure I can be arsed.
I bet it would look great over red though!
I’d try it over nude. Then it would be more in the spirit of sand.
I don’t think I like it. I think it looks like glittery nail dandruff.
Mmm….not sure I like it, lancome is “high end” and it kinda screams cheap!
have you tried flakies yet charlotte like gosh rainbow?
Very bling bling 🙂
I have this and agree that it is gritty and a pina to remove, but nevertheless it is one of my favourite glitters. I prefer this over nude polishes (my favourite combo is with Nails Inc Basil Street), which almost makes the glitter look a bit more silvery and the effect less Christmas tinsel glitz and more sophisticated sparkle.
I put Seche Vite topcoat over this to stop it feeling gritty as well
Hmm. I’m feeling “no.” But maybe if it was over a more champagne sort of base?
if you dont want it, i’ll willingly take it off your hands……… 😉
wow, this is awesome glitter. I think it look great!
That’s some serious glitter right there. Thanks for the swatches. I think it would look good over a black base.
When I saw the thumbnail on facebook I thought it was really pretty and then when I click on the link…yeah. Not so much.
Your nails are too pretty to waste on mediocre polish!
Oh please try it over a nude, and post a pic – I think it has potential to look fabulous like that.
Hmm, not what i’d expect from a company like Lancome. Still, I’d like to see it over a more nude colour.
Did you use the tinfoil method to remove? That makes such a difference for glitters.
This one’s not for me I’m afraid.
I don’t really like it that much to be honest. Maybe it’s look better over a nude color?
The removal process puts me off applying glitter polishes. I love them but..
hm i think this could have looked really beautiful, but i’m not really feeling it.
How could lancome could come up with that shade? It looks a bit tacky to be honest. not my cup of tea xx
