Posted by Lipglossiping On June - 4 - 2010

~ Shampoo: None!  I’m having a hair product crisis this month, ever since the Philip Kingsley thankfully sorted my sore scalp out at the beginning of the month… I haven’t really enjoyed using anything.
~ Conditioner: None!   I’m hating on all my conditioners, my hair seems to be getting drier – HALP!
~ Styling products: Honestly can’t be bothered, I’ve scraped my hair into a ponytail practically every day.
~ Shower Gel: I used up the last of my Body Shop Sweet Lemon which was pretty lovely, so I bought some more while it was cheap!
~ Night Cream: Liz Earle Superskin Moisturiser – I’ve just finished it! BOO!
~ Day Cream: Ponds Light Day Cream (if it’s good enough for Kylie…)
~ Cleanser: Muji Cleansing Oil followed up with Priori Advanced AHA – Gentle Facial Cleanser
~ Exfoliator: None, ‘cos I’m using the AHA facial cleanser daily
~ Primer: Shu Uemuera UV Underbase SPF 30
~ Foundation brush: Fingers mostly!
~ Concealer: Stargazer Pro Paint Stick
~ Powder: MAC MSF Natural in Medium
~ Blusher: Bare Escentuals Blusher in Giddy Pink
~ Highlighter: Make Up Store High Tech Lighter in Orion
~ Eyeshadow base: UDPP in Sin

~ Eyeliner: Sleek Kajal in Black

~ Lipstick: Revlon Colour Burst in Soft Nude
~ Lipgloss: NYX Whipped

C’mon, I really need some inspiration on the ‘Poo and Conditioner front, tell me what is fabulous at the minute?

I really like the James Brown Scandalous moisturising shampoo – the one in the brown/gold tube. It smells lovely and it scents your hair too. I haven’t got the conditioner, but I’ve got the Rescue Treatment from the same range and it leaves your hair *so* soft.

Other than that, I’m lusting over TIGI Bed Head Superstar shampoo/conditioner. I’ve never tried it, but it smells a bit like Calpol (from when I was a kid, before they took all the sugar out!).

  2. A:Kin shampoo and conditioners are very good. They’re from Australia and are 100% natural. You can pick them up for about £7. They smell a bit like chicken korma, though. I think this is a good thing.

i second tigi! i use the dumb blonde. I know you are not blonde but it says on the back that its for use for any coloured hair. Or you could try out their other offerings. I pay around €10 for a 400ml bottle which lasts me ages. Cosmetics are generally cheaper in the UK than in Ireland anyway!

  4. Janie says:

I also agree with the Tigi.
It’s been a constant in my life unlike any other shampoo brand!

Currently using Some Like It Hot, which is sulfate free and good in humidity and against UV rays. It has a light citrus scent and you can pick up a huge 750ml duo for around £20?
Also a big fan of the Oatmeal and Honey range which is great for my super damaged straightened hair and smells good enough to eat!

  5. I had a hair revelation by nicking some of my nephews Johnson’s baby shampoo the other day. It meant I could go two and a half whole days without washing my hair! I normally have to wash my hair every single morning which is a pain in the proverbial so lathering up with that felt like I’d uncovered the secret to more lie ins! Hoorah!!! xxx

Have you tried LUSH’s BIG Shampoo? I smells soooo good and my hair feels squeeky clean! xx

I really like the straight Moroccan Oil (comes in a light blue bottle, white and orange writing). I’m using the shampoo atm and it leaves my hair really nice and the smell is lovely! Haven’t tried the conditioner but I’m sure it’s good as well.

A picture, if you can find it at any of your local salons: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Moroccan-Oil-Shampoo-250-8-5/dp/B003JKDHYE

I also checked the Superdrug site and they carry Aussie products. Aussie has a “3 Minute Miracle” conditioner (it may be named something else over there), that stuff is ahhhhmazing!

    Hope that helps!

  8. Rae says:

I *was* adoring Redken All Soft before leaving it and going ‘cone free… and now I miss it 🙁 Care to find yourself some and give it some loving for me?

  9. Meeta says:

The Dr Organic Manuka Honey shampoo and conditioner from Holland & Barrett is lovely – great for dry hair, and makes it feel soft and nourished. I don’t bother with styling products after this. Also Superdrug do a really good coconut intensive conditioner in their naturals range that comes in a big tub and only costs about £2 – I was seriously impressed, it gives Kerastase a run for its money.

  10. Jenni says:

LUSH shampoo bars in a tin because they smell so good. I think it’s all just mild detergent (to eradicate grease) so it’s all in the fragrance/packaging. Just get the smelliest or the prettiest.

Conditioner? Slather almond oil on it BEFORE you wash. Or any sweet-smelling oil.

  11. Nicole says:

I have never been able to find an HG shampoo and conditioner *sigh*. My hair is wavy/curly, color-treated, and tends toward dry. Redken products seem to work well, I used to use All Soft and it generally leaves your hair just that. I tried using store brand, natural, ‘cone free a few months back and frankly my hair has just been rubbish since so I splurged and bought some Sebastian stuff for a treat. I picked up Drench Shampoo which is a VERY heavy moisturizing shampoo. I’d only recommend it as a once or twice a week treat for dry hair. Also grabbed um… can’t remember the name… the protein conditioner. It’s another thing I’ll only use once or twice a week as too much protein seems to make my hair a little sketchy.

  12. Elizabeth says:

I had some major damage from lightening my hair, and I slept with the ojon restorative hair treatment on overnight and had about 15 people at work the next day ask what I did differently to my hair! Using it once a week for a month made a huge difference in my hair. Their shampoo and conditioner are great too, I got them in a kit on QVC, but right now I’m using pureology. Tigi dumb blonde personally left buildup on my hair.

  13. LeanneOCD says:

I’m with Elizabeth (great minds eh?), I cant live without Ojon!! I adore how it makes my hair look and feel. Its awesome. x

  14. Mhairi says:

Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends, it’ll remoisturise your hair but be careful with it cos it made my crown super greasy and built up. If I want to use it now I have to only use it on my ends which is a pain in the arse! It is a good range though.

  15. Dani says:

I’ve been using L’Oreal Nutrigloss Light and it smells amazing 🙂 also conditions my hair without making it greasy at all, you can usually get really good deals for it in places like Asda or Superdrug as well!

  16. Marie says:

I’ve spent horrific amounts on shampoo in the past but always end up back with my old faithful, herbal essenses. it might be cheap but it’s bloody good and always leaves my hair in the best condition (and with a lovely smell!)

  17. Julia Arenas says:

You might want to try MooGoo ^v^ An Australian brand, was going to ask you to review them too! Theyve got specialty creams for problem skin, ageing skin, dry skin, and soaps, shampoo, and conditioner, too ^v^ http://www.moogoo.com.au

  18. michele lawrie says:

I’ve used Aveda’s Shampure shampoo and conditioner for years and still love it. I buy them in the litre bottles and using the pump they last for ever. If I want a deeper moisturising traetment i Leave in either their Damage remedy or treatment mask overnight and was out in the morning. Can’t do without it.
