OH HAI MOST PRETTY POLISH IN THE WORLD. WHERE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?
You know, it’s funny. The nail polish community online have been crying out for moar holos, moar party glitters, and moar duochromes from the industry leaders for a few years now. We haven’t really seen anything significant come from these requests and so something very interesting has happened… the rule of the indie/franken brigade is now upon us! You might still be looking to OPI, China Glaze, Zoya et al to see where the polish trends are heading, and if so… you’re looking in the wrong place.
Get. on. Etsy.
I picked up this Darling Diva Polish in Space Beetle a few weeks ago and it’s the most beautiful colour-shifting holographic that I own. Ok, it might be the only one, whatever – I don’t have a 9359435 billion nail polishes (well, not quite).
Ain’t she beautiful? Trust me, she’s even better in sunlight.
I know that she’s been compared to Dollish Polish’s Toxic Avenger… of which, I know very little about – so I’m just going to take this polish on its own merits and tell you why you need to go and buy it. I don’t think it’s going to be a tough job to be honest.
Space Beetle is a linear holographic-slash-duochrome that’s absolutely packed with prismatic bounty. The highlights flash the most delightful candyfloss pink which is what makes this so unique. The swatches show the polish applied over a bare nail, two coats – both of which, applied faultlessly.
I haven’t tried layering it yet, but I can’t wait – I’m curious to see what effect those pink flashes have on a variety of base colours.
Darling Diva Polish Space Beetle (£7.86) is available to buy online from the Darling Diva Polish Etsy shop which ships internationally. I have my beady eye on Ceylon next (I’m a sucker for a Periwinkle!)
Squee! So pretty! KBAI! (*heads to etsy*)
Wowee. That is quite awesome.
I shouldn’t have looked! Your picture reminds me of the holographic wrapping paper you can get – so pretty!
Ooooh, me likey lots.
I adore the indie sellers!
I would love to pick up this, but at 12 USD + 6 USD shipping it would incur customs charges (with start at 33USD for any non european goods over 10USD coming into Denmark), making this too expensive even for such a beauty :-/
I’ve also been reticent to buy from indie brands because the holos and pigments are not always safe in certain concentrations and their formulas are not regulated or tested.
Hi Mary, I’ve been finding that customs issue everytime I try to order freestyle palettes from the US. Unless you’re orderin in bulk it just doesn’t make it feasible. Your threshold is ridiculously low at $10 – at least we get £18 before they start slapping on the charges.
You need to find a kind soul in the US who’ll CP it for you and post it on x
Sadly it is now only £15, not £18, so be careful!
Ooooh when did that happen?! That was sneaky – I’ve been lucky recently then. I don’t object to the import duty but I do object to Royal Mail slapping £8 (it is still £8 right – please tell me that hasn’t gone up too!) ontop of it for ‘handling’.
Yes, I do believe it’s still £8. I know exactly what you mean, I don’t mind paying 20% extra since the US prices are usually much lower than UK prices, but to be charged 8 quid by the post office is outrageous. I would quite happily pick up my own package if they told me where to go, thank you, I don’t need them to pick it up for me. So I try to either get sellers to mark my packages with low value or simply don’t buy from the US. I was very lucky with Cherry Culture though, they just put a low value on a rather large order, so it got through without charge and I didn’t even ask them!
O.M.G! I will die if I don’t get this polish. Going to etsy to buy it now.
XOXO,

Hi Charlotte,
Can you tell me what size this is? I want to order, but it doesn’t say. Thanks.
Doesn’t say on the bottle – looks 15ml to me. Definitely not a mini!
Thanks. Unfortunately the last one is gone. 🙁 She said she’ll have more soon though. 🙂
Lets hope this is not going to be another ‘Connect the Dots’ drama 🙁
Gah, sorry guys – she had a couple up last night, I think she stocks quite quickly
It’s up again and I have ordered it. Together with another 3. I have no self-control! :S
Soooo pretty. Never thought to look on etsy f

Truer words have never been spoken. I love this color, and I’m going to check their shop out. Speaking of Etsy, have you heard of All That Glitters? http://www.etsy.com/shop/allthatglittersnails I have six of their glitters now, and they’re my favorite! Some of them are chunky and need to be layered over a creme, but they wear like iron. I love them to death, but my favorites are Cha Cha Twist, Plum & Plummer, and Rebel Rebel. I highly recommend them!
ooooh Spotty Dottie Dark looks like nail art over a bright base!, love it
