I don’t know how I feel about including this lipstick in my red lip series. I mean, it’s totally like the lipstick angels came down from heaven and stole all of the cherries to make it, but…
This isn’t a red lipstick and I’m sick of hearing it described as a blue-based red. It’s pink. Pink like Nicki Minaj can only f*cking dream of. Although having said that, I’m gonna propagate the “this is a blue-based red lipstick” ’cause it’ll probably work better for my SEO. Don’t tell me you haven’t been warned though. It’s f*cking pink.
Colour dramas aside (the ones in my head), Revlon Cherries in the Snow is totally worthy of all the praise bestowed upon it, feeling more like a £20 lipstick than a £7.49 one. It’s rich, luxurious, deeply-pigmented and long-lasting. You can work it into the lips like a stain or wear it in all it’s full-bodied glory. If you apply, blot, apply, blot (and I mean really blot) – it doesn’t transfer all over your glass and stays put for most of the day.
Frankly, every woman should own this – aslong as you like pink. I found it really hard to get hold of, it was never in Boots and I’ve been looking casually for the best part of 4 years (seriously). In the end I picked it up on eBay for way cheaper than the RRP anyway. Go buy it. Like now.
Do you own Cherries in the Snow? Pink innit?
Yeah, that’s pink, that is. Dead nice though. x
I like it ‘cos it’s not got enough blue in it to be called fuchsia (cannot write that word without saying a rude word in my head to ensure I spell it the RIGHT way).
Ha, I’ve been reading your blog for about 2 years now but I gotta say I feel like you’re really coming into your own recently. Ive literally laughed out loud (yeah…a proper lol) at a few recent posts. Just wanted to say I’m really enjoying reading your blog. No pressure to be funny or anything now…
And it so is pink. X
That’s really kind of you Emily, like really really kind – thank you x
Ummm, I don’t know you know. Is it pink? It is red? I think I want to be a pain in the bum and say it is ‘raspberry red’ but then again, if it has been raspberry red, then revlon would have called it ‘raspberry in the snow’… You look very Jean Paul Gaultier with your breton stripes. Loving the light brown in your hair. Mine is so one dimensionally flat 🙁
I can’t believe you did a straw poll on twitter and loads of people called it red?! I don’t look JPG, take it back – I have way more hair!
Stunning. I think I need to own this!
I think you do too!
This is probably my all time favourite lipstick. Not quite red or pink, somewhere in the middle. Its just lovely and at £7.49 for the quality it is a bargain.
amen sister!
I have Cherries in the Snow and it’s definitely more pink than red. It looks deceiving in the tube, but it’s definitely pink on my lips. It looks great on you!
I actually bought it ‘cos I thought it was a proper Snow White type red… WRONG!
I love this and yes, it’s definitely a bright pink to me too! I thought for a while that maybe there was an older or USA version that was more red as so many people call it red. I agree, the texture on it is gorgeous and it lasts a surprisingly long time on me.
It’s perfection in a lipstick is what it is!
I wanted to buy this (and their lip butters for ages)but will have to wait until after exams to reward myself for hard work.
It looks like a great deep pink, amazing on you!
Ohhh please get it soon Nargis, I’m totally ‘meh-ing’ all over the lip butters though. x
I have this and love it, the formula as well as the colour. I actually picked mine up in the US for about 3 quid. 😉 I also got a shade that’s not available here called Pink in the afternoon that is lighter, but also very pretty. ♥
One day, I will go to the US and I will come back with so. much. makeup. they won’t let me back in the country and I will live out my days in some kind of transit lounge limbo. But damn I’ll look hot.
I definitely agree, this is pink! I had a bit of a search to get hold of it myself. And I had read over and over again that it is red. It is NOT red. IT IS PINK! Just as well I like that shade of pink.
high-five!
1. I love it when you f*cking swear 🙂
2. It is indeed pink.
3. I love your top!
xoxo
I only swore because I was genuinely annoyed that this lipstick breaks the rules of my red lip series but I want to keep it in there anyway because it feels like I should. I can’t handle it… it’s like I’ve got a really tall chest of drawers and one of them is open. But I can’t close it ‘cos I’m tied to the chair on the other side of the room.
Of course, I’m more concerned about the drawer being open than I am the fact that I’m tied to a chair.
Top = £7-something in H&M (actually a dress). xxx
That is very pink.
But also very nice.
Your lighter hair is looking just lovely 🙂
I honestly think this is a gorgeous shade by itself, and on you. Do you think this could possibly be another “red” I could pull off?
It’s a beautiful lip color I have the nail polish and I think that’s pretty too. I wonder if you wouldn’t look like a dill wearing the polish and lipstick. I like the matchy makeup look (from the early 90s) time for the trend to come back 🙂
