Despite the fact that I’ve hardly scraped the surface of my previous Chanel Illusion d’Ombre purchase (Mirifique), I was back at the counter barely a month later to pick up Illusoire – a smoky, mauve shade which contains the most perfect amount of glimmer for an understated sparkle.
These are simply my favourite shades – cool, mauvey taupes will always bring a pitter-patter to my heart. The texture of the Chanel Illusion d’Ombres are like a solid mousse with a little bit of bounce when you brush your finger over the surface. They feel cooling as you apply them to your eyelids and last well throughout the day.
Pigmentation is medium but the depth of colour builds quickly with a second sweep over the eyelid – the formula blends nicely, more like a powder than a cream or mousse – blendable even after it’s been sat for a little while.

I have this one to, it’s become one of my go-to shades. So easy to apply and gives maximum impact.
Yes, I do. I bought Mirifique a few months ago and plan on picking up a few others. So pleased these aren’t limited release!
Yours is the first photo of this that I have seen where it looks very cool, almost silvery which might actually rule it out for me. I have Ebloui, the red/rust one, and I love it. I’d really like them to bring out one similar in colour to Sidecar from the Naked palette, I’d def have to have that one!
I love these. I have 5. The only one I didnt pick up was Fatasme. I pretty much always apply with my finger tips 🙂 xx

I’ve got this one (and epatant and emerville too..!) and I love the feel of them. This one is my favourite though, I love how they appear to be so multi-faceted and not a flat, one-dimentional shade.

I loooooove this shade, this is definitely my favorite type of color as well. Smokey and not-quite-neutral.
I think you need Ebloui, it’s the one I have, and I’m also super-pale. I mean, OK, yes it is kinda a bruise sort of color, but it doesn’t make you look like you’ve been punched in the eye. It’s just a really gorgeous color which sits really well on the skin. It’s got that perfect amount of shimmer, and is very wearable when applied really sheer – which is what I’m doing for work today. It’s easy to wear and quick and foolproof so it’s been getting a lot of play in my collection lately. (It was a stocking stuffer!!)
I was going to say, this is you in eyeshadow form, taupe and posh. 😉 i want the rose goldy type one hmmm. xxxx
