Elemis Pro-Collagen Body Cream (and the poor relation)

I wonder if my body ever gets jealous of my face?

I mean… I spend a fortune on trying to make my face look good, and if you discount x amount of moolah that I’ve spent on dieting over the years… my body is like the poor relation.  The hand-me-down kid.  At least it has my hair to keep it company, I neglect that too.

I haven’t gone mental… (in case you’re wondering).

You see, British brand, Elemis have just released a body version of their incredibly covetable Pro Collagen Marine cream.  It’s specifically designed to target anti-ageing and combat the loss of elasticity allover our *cough* vital areas.

It contains mystical-sounding ingredients such as Castanha Oil, Laminaria Brown Seaweed, Babassu Oil, Bilberry Oil and that ever-intriguing marine extract Padina Pavonica.  It even promises to help breakdown fatty deposits.

AND…

Let’s face it, once we hit 30, everything starts to head South faster than a pair of migrating blue tits.  Yeah, you totally saw what I did there.

But back to my original point.  I love Elemis’ original Pro Collagen Marine formula and it’s one of my very few top-end luxuries (the other being perfume I can ill-afford) and I’d slather it all over my body if I could afford to (oh hello cheaper body version!)…

BUT…

I’m just too lazy you know.

Do you guys make use of the wonderful technologies in your face creams and put them to use on your bodies?  Am I a bit weird for blatantly and completely ignoring what is (in fairness), the largest proportion of skin on my body in favour of this much smaller *circles face* bit right here?

Perhaps it’s more of an upkeep thing?  If I had the body of a goddess… I’d be more willing to put the effort in to keep it that way?  Hell, to get the bits below my neck reach any kind of level worthy of a bikini, I’d need about £20k in surgery and KFC/McDonalds/KrispyKreme wiped off the face of the Earth.  Minimum.

Which leads me to something that’s going to keep me awake tonight.  Do really, really ugly people not bother with face cream?

Elemis Pro-Collagen Body Cream is priced at £49.00 for 200ml and available on counter and online from www.timetospa.co.uk

  1. Bizarrely enough my skin on body has become a whole lot better for not using anything on it, it’s found it’s natural balance I think. What I never neglect to do once or twice a week is a thorough body scrub though, it’s a must. Been using Clarins body scrub for years.

I have enough trouble remembering to do my face regularly, the body is lucky to get a creamy shower wash as often as it does!

Hello there girlfriend, when I read your blog just now, it felt like I was reading my own confession, haha! Yep, yep I have ALWAYS disregarded my body (my hair is up there too, just quietly, shh, lol) and in comparison to my strict, serious, upmarket facial skin care regime, my poor old body is flirting with poverty. :-O
I use to buy a big 1 litre bottle of ‘el-cheapo’ sorbolene cream that was under $5, which I would use only when, and if, I shaved, so it would basically last for ever. Hundreds of dollars a year I forked out for professional facial skin care, in contrast to the measly $5 for my depreciated bod that never got a look in 🙁
I have however, recently succumbed to my old/bad habits and am now giving my body the attention it deserves. By always slathering a good quality moisturiser (normally enriched with AHA’s, Antioxidants or other active ingredients, designed to help tackle premature ageing)on my body religiously, every single time I step out of the shower, while my skin is still damp, so it then penetrates better. The extra effort has not been in vain, as the condition of my body skin is really improving, to the point where it can start stepping up alongside it’s opulent sister to claim it’s rightfully equal posy in the spotlight, hehe. I am actually rather proud of myself, haha, this is a total turnaround for me 😉
I have just discovered Elemis here in Australia and have been super impressed with some of the samples I tried, hopefully we too will get this landing on our shores in the not so distant future 🙂

How bizarre is this post in that I went to the Luxury Wedding Fair in London at the weekend and they gave me a 50ml travel pack of some Elemis Pro Collagen Body products. I was going to throw it in the bin or give to a relative as a naffo christmas present, but looks like it might be worth a try!
It’s not this marine one, but the Pro Collagen Radiantly Smooth Body Serum and Body Cream. I have two packs since my bf came with me.
They also gave me a 70ml of the DHC Oil Cleanser which I am LOVING! The weddig show was terrible, but the freebies were obviously worth it 😀
