GLITTER THROW UP!
I hate glitter polishes. I can’t apply them without thinking ahead about 4 days… the thought of removal makes me want to sharpen a meat cleaver in preparation.
I love glitter polishes. I can’t apply them without smiling at their cheery playfulness. I love how nothing else on earth makes Leila think her Mum is ridiculously cool like a big ol’ pile of glitter vom on my nails.
This is my difficulty. I know, starving people all over the world think they’ve got problems?

I defy you to look at Happy Birthday* and not feel the whimsy in the bottle. It’s the polish that all 4 year olds dream of. 34 year olds dream of it too… they just don’t admit it so freely.
3 coats gives you a fair splattering over a bare nail. It gave me enough coverage to not be concerned about my poor, yellow nail beds and that’s saying something! It would actually layer over any shade exceptionally well… black would knock it outta the ball park no?
I had so many comments on my nails when I wore this for a few days… the glitter lies flat so it’s completely non-irritating but you might still want a top coat to smooth it further. It’s really very lovely, though I did turn the air blue when removal time came. I attempted one finger the usual way before going for the very successful tin-foil trick. I’m so glad the cleaver stayed in the drawer. This time.

Looks gorgeous – I’m a sucker for anything A) Colourful and B) Glittery, so this would also be a polish 19 year olds dream of! My remover isn’t hardcore enough for glitters, though :/ Damn eczema.
Saw this described as clown puke once, which is about right! I never wear glitters for the same reason, my nails would fall off if I had to drench them in that much remover! That top photo is stunning, one hell of a lense I suspect? x

Oh my! That is amazingly gorgeously fun. £16 is a lot for a varnish (to me) but that is so pretty.
I love this polish so much. No regrets and worth the £16 I spent but don’t think I’d ever spend the same amount on any other polish xx
Ohhhh! It’s my birthday next week and I just got this polish after trying to find someone who would ship to Australia since my birthday last year. Going to do 4 coats on my ring fingers and other nails a combination of CG It’s Poppin & OPI Wing It to match my lippy (madmen themed party – matching seemed appropriate) Anyway, point of the story is seeing this post just got me sooooooooooooo excited! Yay!!!
I might be the only one, but this doesn’t appeal to me in the slightest. Maybe because I’m not 34 anymore. 😉 Also 16 quid?! :O

OMG! I absolutely adore this but £16.00 is expensive. I have one Deborah Lippmann I find a nightmare to apply called Waking Up in Vegas, the formulation is always separating and you have to shake it up for a few minutes before applying. I’m wearing it today. I’ve had it a good while and worn it 3 times and the first 2 times it was on a couple of hours and I hated it but I’m actually liking it today (applied last night) and have a huge 3 coats of a pink glitter over the top of it (see NOTD on my blog) but the photo doesn’t do it justice. I’m so into glitter right now that whenever I freshly paint my nails I know just hte right glitter to go on top. I’m not liking my nails to be “underderessed” but I’m sure I’ll fall out of this when we get to Autumn (I hope)!

Lovely! I found Across the Universe the worst nail polish I have ever used to take off. In the end, I bought Deborah Lippman’s Nail Stripper Mitts to get rid of it – it works, but is also mighty expensive!
I love this polish!! But I’ve had it for about a year and all the color is gone. 🙁 This has happened to many other polish enthusiasts too. I would go for cheaper alternatives, there’s one by Milani (I don’t know if that’s available in the UK?) and one by Wet N Wild but that may be hard to find now. Do you know about the “tin foil method” of glitter removal? Soak a cotton ball (or better yet, felt–felt is AMAZING for polish removal, I ran out once and had to go back to cotton balls and wanted to die)…oh anyway, soak a cotton ball with remover and wrap foil around your finger for about 5 minutes. Then just slide the foil and cotton ball off, pressing on the nail a little, and the glitter slides right off!
Not available in the UK, trust me – I’ve tried! Also a bit extortionate on eBay 🙁
Oh God I want it, I want it, I want it soooo bad! There’s a new set coming out which has this one and 2 similar glittery beautifes and I neeeeeed it!
The Deborah Lippmann polishes are so lovely, trouble is the price and the number of coats required. If I was going to spend so much on a nail polish I’d be hoping for a one-coater so that I could get the maximum use out of it.
Okay, I admit it. A major part of me went “SQUeEeeeeeEe!!” When I saw those photos! X

Beautiful colours but think I could only manage an accent nail – they just make me hanker for the elusive OPI Ltd Edition Mad as a Hatter. As god is my witness I will track down that baby!

A tip for glitter polish removal which makes it super easy. You’ll need nothing but cotton balls or pads, polish remover & cheap aluminum foil.
Soak a cotton ball in remover. Place it on your finger nail. Wrap your finger tip all the way around with aluminum foil making sure to seal up the edges as best as you can. Very easy. Continue on with the rest of your fingers. Let your aluminum wrapped fingers sit like this for a couple of minutes. Remove the foil & wipe off each nail with the cotton ball. It works so ridiculously easy that in many cases all the polish has already removed itself. No scrubbing necessary, no nail damage, no meat cleavers 🙂
Personally, I don’t like glitter nail polish, never have. Tried it once & thought ‘HELL NO’. However, this technique works just as well for regular nail polish. I constantly paint my nails as they’re very long & look terrible bare. But I despise the removal/repainting process. This speeds it up & I can have everything off, base coat, 2 coats of polish & Seche Vite drying top coat done in about 30 minutes total. And that’s with my finger nails dry, able to continue on with my day. If you haven’t tried Seche Vite fast drying top coat as of yet, you’re missing out. It leaves a beautiful glossy finish, like you just got your nails done at the salon, and completely dries your nails in just minutes. I apply approx 3 coats as I hate sheer polish. The top coat penetrates them all instantly & dries my polish in record time. It also keeps my nails from chipping for well over a week & can be used between layers of polish to build it up beautifully. Which means I can just touch my nails up over a 2 week period before having to apply again. And it works with all polishes. Cream, shimmer, metallic, cheap, expensive, anything. Best stuff ever & nothing like any other top coat I’ve tried.
