You may remind yourself frequently that for reasons beyond your control, it just wasn’t meant to be… but still, late at night as you find yourself in that transitional world between wakefulness and sleep, your mind wanders. The imagery remains as fresh today as it was nearly 24 months ago, the longing sometimes even stronger.
There will always be a missing piece to the puzzle, never adequtely filled no matter how many attempts we may make to replace it. We could spend thousands of pounds and travel far and wide to discover a suitable sucessor. But the question remains… “What if?”
You didn’t think I was talking about a *man* did you? Pfft.
I didn’t pick either palette up (and I love them both) when they were available because there was simply TOO much from Dior Holiday that had made my wishlist. I bit my lip as I told myself they were too expensive when I’d already Xmas hauled, a classic angel/devil shoulder combination. On this occasion, I should have let the devil win.
And so it will remain for now, Dior Jazz Club palettes… the ones that got away.
.
Do you have a sorry tale to tell of the Limited Edition item(s) you still wish you’d splurged on?
I swear i saw one of these on ebay last night!!
Well I tend to splurge on everything, so I don’t miss out on many things, naughty me really, but there’s a couple of things I wish I’d been into make up when they came out. Well, I’ve always been into make up, but not quite this much. There are some very old Guerlain Meteorites that I’d love to get, but I don’t think that’ll ever happen now as they are from the last century (literally!). Also Mac Blue Comet Dazzleglass I so wish I’d known about when it came out, it just looks gorgeous! Oh well, I probably wouldn’t even wear it anyway.
Ahhh I feel the same about Comet Blue/Blue Comet/whatever it was! And Miss Dynamite too.
Ah, I remember those well. I had the same struggle–only I actually ordered #1 then realized I’d probably never use it. When I went to pick it up, I did a return so it could be put back into stock untouched. As I recall, that was a particularly amazing Fall–too many things to love! f
I can’t think of anything at the moment, but you are making me want to go check out all of the current new collections to make sure I haven’t missed anything!
I still regret not buying Chanel Jade when it came out! I’m sure there are others… they pop into my mind every now and again but I push them out quickly so I don’t get too sad 😛
Nothing springs to mind, though it would’ve been nice to get Azalea Blossom or Ripe Peach Blush Ombre from MAC, or Marine Life. I was kicking myself over not getting the original Viva Glam Gaga lipstick when it was out, but then I discovered they sell sell it at Aussie counters so I grabbed it 😀
Well these are just lovely.
Sad that they’re from 2009 though!
I don’t think I have a sorry tale because I stupidly buy everything I want and have more sorry tales about buying things that never get used 🙁
