So, this is how I imagine the conversation went one day at Eyeko HQ…
“So guysssssss, how about it?”
“How about what?”
“Bile polish, you know… polish, that looks like Bile!”
“???”
“C’mon! If Chanel can do Shit fingers, we can handle a bit o’ Bile!”
Eyeko Bile Military Polish is a murky brown/green mix that probably triggers equal amounts of joy/repulsion. I’m… ok with it until the sunlight hits it and the slightly yellow-hued green shows through *gag*.
It’s a two coater with a fairly thick formula, it’s quite glossy on its own but the above photo shows it combined with a quick-dry top coat. Wear was fine on this, 3 days before tip wear became enough of an issue to warrant removal.
So, it’s not my favourite shade in the world but I’ll tell you something…
Slick this on your toes before your Summer holibobs and you won’t need to put a towel out on the sunbed at 4am. You’ll be clearing the poolside faster than you can say “fungal infection”.
Eyeko Military Polish is available to buy online from PowderRooms priced at £3.50
Eww. That’s just nasty! I think you are being polite when you say bile, I am thinking full blown gastroenteritis and the resulting, erm, fall out!
Ahaha, I actually really like this colour and wore it quite a lot when it first came out!
I quite like this colour. I have a khaki from Topshop called Utilitarian that I love. I find the start of your post to be vulgar and unneccessary. I’m sure Eyeko won’t appreciate this either, especially as they’ve probably given you this for free.
Quite right, it is vulgar…
but it was also supposed to be (as a tongue-in-cheek, naughty reference to Chanel’s Particuliere) although I’m sorry if I offended you. As an aside though, Eyeko didn’t give me this for free. x
Aw, come on, have a sense of humor… 🙁 No need to be so uptight!
I thought it was funny! Maybe lighten up a bit? x
We sent the polish to Charlotte as she very kindly swatches the polishes for us to use on our site. We’re very happy with her honest review, it’s why we send her more and I’m sure her readers appreciate her impartial views and are able to distinguish that not all shades suit all x
I like your attitude, Powder Rooms! Just because of that I will look for your site and if shipping to my country is not too expensive I’ll probably find something there to my liking 🙂
That’s such a great attitude!! 🙂 I think that’s the best mind set to have when sending things to bloggers, because as seen in the comments some people really dislike it but there are others, myself included, who like it. So what I meant to say is that a lot of times things garner positive attention even though it may not look that way at first, and I appreciate your neutral yet supportive stance. That’s all1!
I like how it looks on the nails, it’s a bit darker then in the bottle.
I really like the way this color looks. Bile definitely wouldn’t have been my first thought (or even close).
i LOVE your tongue and cheek attitude. it’s why i read this blog instead of all the *polite* (read: boring) ones!
OMG thank you for starting my day with a HUGE laugh! You snarky thang!
Each to their own, but it’s not a colour I’d wear. If it doesn’t look good applied by you, what hope have the rest of us got?!
Personally, I love your tongue-in-cheek personality, and would rather that than any bland, faceless, devoid-of-personality blog. Your blog is about YOUR opinion, so carry on being you 🙂
Haha, I love the cheeky post, it made my laugh! 🙂 I skipped this colour due to it’s ugliness. I like greens and brown but there’s something about this colour that makes it a bit too icky for me. I get a similar feeling with those yellow-browns that look quite ill (see Nails Inc Battersea Power Station) xxx
Not a color I’d buy, but the post made me laugh out loud. Absolutely don’t give up the personality; I’m not here to read a press release.
This made me laugh lol. I like how it looks on the nails though. 🙂
Your posts are always funny 😛 I really like these kinds of “yucky” polish colours, though! I find they look really unique, which is something I’m constantly searching for since everyone now thinks that mint green polish is the pinnacle of cool and alternative. Aish.
It doesnt look like a nice colour in the bottle, looks nicer on your nails though.
Eew. It looks like baby poo- and I have had enough of that on my fingers for free so definitely would not pay for the ‘look’! 😉
I quite like it actually! Does look a bit…shitty in the bottle though!
i have this colour its ok not my fav. but your post made me laugh 🙂
I really like the color! And at the same time, I love your post and your comments about bile! 🙂 Why would I read a blog if it never made me laugh and was filled with polite genteel pontifications all the while?
As an aside, the color looks like the acid bile that some of the zombies from “Left 4 Dead” (zombie survival first-person shooter game) spew! That makes me like the color all the more! 🙂
Love your review! I saw it and instantly thought of my mother’s fav phrase – “Baby shit green.” Gross!
It looks like bogies! I would never buy a colour like this but I understand that people have different tastes etc etc xx
It’s like a darker version of RBL No More War. I love these “ugly” colors; so different. And you usually won’t come across someone sporting the same shade of polish as you. Oh, and keep up with the offbeat humor. 🙂
