L’Oreal Color Infallible* are a newly released set of 8 eyeshadows that pack one hell of a pigment punch!
Housed in squat screw-top pots… are they creams, pigments or pressed powders? Well… they’re a bit of everything. A hybrid eyeshadow with the texture of a cream, the density of a pigment and convenience of a pressed powder!
Sounds great right? Well… they’re fairly awesome but as is usually the way, not without fault.
The lid unscrews to reveal a plastic ‘press’ which keeps the powder compacted inside the well of the pot.
The pigment under the press is a little tricky to reach with fingers (especially if you have nails!) because it’s located a little way inside the pot rather than level to the edge. If you use a brush, this obviously wouldn’t be an issue but does make for a sheerer application.
The colours are strong and true with a blendable almost creamy texture. Shimmery without being too metallic, they make for some really easy looks. Infact, I can blend this easily with just my fingers for a super-quick morning pick me up!
Unfortunately, I found lasting power to be a little disappointing as these had a tendency to disappear from my lids after about 3 hours… congregating firmly in the crease in a strong, greasy line. They fared better with primer but I still only achieved around 5 hours wear from them on my normal (not hugely oily) lids.
Having said that, some of the shades look amazing in the promo pictures and I’ll still be picking up All Night Blue from the range (a midnight blue shade).

Hmm 3-5 hours wear is hardly Infallible?!! Shame, I like the colours and the concept. Will have a look at them in Boots I think. Thanks for the review.
Oho! It looks like L’Oreal has learned something from Benefit, who I think were the first to make this kind of product (their Stay There eyeshadows, which don’t, of course, stay there). The little press inside the container is very smart! And these look like they have better texture than the Benefit products. I wonder if we’ll be getting these in the US.
I’ll definitely be getting Endless Chocolate and perhaps a few others, depending on the swatches – all based on your curious statement of ‘hybrid’ mixture of cream, pigment and powder!
Aw, just when I was planning to stop buying makeup too, L’Oreal somes up with something completely new. Beauty blogs are such terrible enablers -_-‘

The colors are gorgeous, but I have *really* oily lids, so I guess I’ll have to pass 🙁
Permanent Kaki looks lovely, shame about the lasting power though. I have mega oily lids so they wouldn’t last a minute without creasing!
I am shocked that you found these not long lasting!!! I find these to be the only eyeshadows I can wear that stay on for ages with no primer at all and I’m talking a good 5-6 hours in work. With primer they are a permanent fixture on me!! Oh well guess everyone is different 🙂
Can’t say I’m tempted, I’d hate to see my eyeshadow “congregating firmly in the crease in a strong, greasy line” after 3 hours. Yuck.
I like the sound of the purple and the endless black. I guess I will also have to buy a pack of the sponge eyeshadow applicators too! I hate getting stuff up my nails!

The press isn’t at all original, the Lancome ombre magnetique shadows come with those too.
Will definitely be trying one of those, such a good price! However, I’ll have to go heavy on the primer as I have grease-tastic lids!
These are the drugstore version of the Armani Eyes To Kill (or something like that!) eyeshadows. I have one from the Armani range and absolutely love it so I’m looking forward to having a play with these!
If they don’t have staying power, ick.
I’ve read a lot of good reviews on them, I’m holding out for a 2 for 1 offer, I’m cheap LOL. I guess they need to be paired with a primer.

I got Up All Night Blue and I can assure you that my Blue has gone to bed after 2 hours. And I was wearing Too Faced e/s base, that usually makes my e/s irremovable! The colour is like Deep Truth by MAC, that lasts much longer!

hey i love that Infallible Eye Shadows from L’Oreal i got 4 of them: Silver, purple, gold, and pink .. 🙂 i have really oily lids and the color last all day long u should try ‘Too face’ primer i think is GREAT for oily lids 🙂
