I’ve just received this striking campaign image for the new YSL Baby Doll collection featuring the ubiquitous Cara Delevigne which will be released at the end of May. The collection will include: four coloured mascaras (black, brown, blue, and purple), five coloured eyeliners, a new glossy lipstain and a nail polish.
I still haven’t tried any the YSL glossy lipstains (my intense dislike of “gloss” is making me so hesistant) but I always love the promise of a new YSL mascara, one of the few cyclic launches that gets me excited!
Now, am I getting horribly old or is the male “interest” in the campaign image genuinely young enough to be my offspring? I can’t believe I’m able to say that without a hint of sarcasm. He looks about what… 14? I’m 31.
SON?!
Sweet jesus of all things prematurely ageing, I’m off to drown myself in mint imperials.
The new YSL Baby Doll Mascara will be available on counter, and online at yslbeauty.co.uk from the 22nd May, priced at £24.50
Seriously, how old is that kid? I’m 38 so her could be my son. Yikes! She’s not much older is she?
I can’t believe coloured mascara is making such a comeback- I remember proudly sporting electric blue and bright green and yellow ( yes, YELLOW) in the late 80’s. I wore them with a gloss I loved by L’oreal that I now know gave me jizz lips. Oh, the shame.
He does look about fifteen.
I got a few of the YSL Glossy Stains while I was in Paris and they are AMAZING. I’m genuinely in love. They wear like iron and they’re hugely flattering.
He certainly doesn’t get my pulse racing either. He looks like a snotty kid trying to sneak a peek at the ladies!
That dress and the makeup on the lady looks fab though!
She is perfect!

He doesn’t look older than 18 but I don’t really notice him, Cara is stealing the show – she looks fabulous.
I think this advert is Way TOO FAKE. Cara doesn’t look like Cara I barley recognized her. Also who uses mascara like this? It’s pure fail for YSL
Is it just me, or does her reflection on the second image not match her face?! She does look stunning, though.
The problem I have with the ad is the way her body is positioned. Her awkward and forced body language is not enticing me to buy this mascara, and nobody sits like that or holds the mascara wand like that while putting on mascara. Someone needs to be fired.
What most like about the ad is that she doesn’t appear to be wearing false eyelashes- I hate it when models in mascara ads have falsies on!
Gad, Cara is everywhere at the moment *resentment*
I have never tried one of their mascaras but I am addicted to the glossy stains (even as a fellow non gloss lover) so I might have to give it a bash.
