My first Deborah Lippmann glitter polish. It feels like every iconic DL polish comes with it’s own story firmly entrenched in popular culture. Glitter in the Air was created by Deborah after she had watched Pink’s performance at the 2010 Grammy Awards (if you search on You Tube you can find it).
The most important thing you should note is that in the above swatch, I have LAYERED the Deborah Lippmann polish over Essie’s Sag Harbor. The polish on my bare nail is VERY sheer… not a good look over yellow-stained tips. I wanted you to be able to appreciate the glitter without the distractions from my ugly nails.
So again, I repeat… even with three coats… you will be able to see your own nail beneath Glitter in the Air unless you layer it over another colour. Got that? Right.
The overall effect of the mani reminds me of a baby’s birthday party… it’s ethereal, light, delicate and sunny. A true feel-good polish for the playful amongst you. It’s limited edition for Spring 2011 and has already disappeared from the website so if you want it? Better get down to HoF fast!
£16 for 15ml at House of Fraser. It’s undoubtedly pretty but has a hefty price tag to match.

I wonder how this would look layered over Chanel Riva? hmmmm I still haven’t tried any DL polishes yet because I haven’t figured out how to get them in Canada. Must look into it more 😉
I bet it would look gorgeous, probably amazing over Jade too! Hope you find a stockist soon x
Love this polish, not only because it’s so cute, but mostly because of the song/performance that gave the inspiration. Not a fan of Pink, but watched that vid like 10 times in a row when I first discovered it.
It’s perfect isn’t it? I watched it again when I was writing this post up, such an athelete!
Heh, and I thought I was the only one who taught the polish remind me of a baby’s birthday. 😛
It must be an easy connection to make! It’s very airy and soft… pretty!
How many coats is shown here? I saw on All You Desire that the glitter is really sparse; as well as the base being extremely sheer!
It’s beautiful but I can’t justify that many coats.
Sorry, I should have said – the above swatch shows two coats of the DL x
Worth every penny IMO as a layering polish 😉 I love this one so much!
Ahh, it’s lovely when you proper fall in love with a product. I feel like that about my Color Club Wild At Heart (cheap at around an 1/8th of the price LOL)
It does looks really cute but I’m not sure that I could pull it off unless at a child’s birthday party (that was the intial feeling I got from it)
The price isn’t too bad, but then if you need another polish underneath… all adds up!
Yes, these Deborah Lippmann polishes aren’t easily justifiable with sense. It’s more like a Tom Ford lipstick or an Armani shadow where the product either grabs you or doesn’t. And if it does, then you need to hold on to your purse LOL
What a shame it needs to be layered over another polish because of sheer it is. I don’t think I could justify the price then..
It’s a bit like the nfu-ohs in that respect I think… posh layering polishes!
Someone told me it was their favourite nailpolish on one of the websites I use. She also said it reminded her of speckled eggs :p
I think that this polish is made to be layered over pastels!
Speckled eggs is a totally cute way to describe it! I bet it would look amazing over a pastel green too actually, you’re giving me ideas!
I find the glitter quite big so would give this a miss but I am loving Sea Harbor:)
The glitter is big, especially the hexagonal pieces but it’s not any more frustrating than normal glitter when it comes to removal. Both make me want to chop my fingers off at the knuckles!
I really like the way that this looks! <3
Beautiful!! That is such a gorgeous shade, I don’t even know where to begin.
Gah, how I would love a (few) bottle(s) of DL glitter polishes but I just can’t justify the price tag…
