Forget FitFlops or FlitFops or whatever the hell they’re called and check out the new boys in town!
These new sandals from Scholl are called HydraStep and they contain a special built-in gel footbed that slowly releases softening ingredients as you go about your daily routine!
The New Scholl HydraStep Sandal (£24.99):
• Contains a moisturising gel infused with gentle natural emollients, Vitamin E and a delicate fragrance
• Has a soft and breathable bamboo charcoal textile insole
• Has an anatomically shaped footbed and anti-slip sole for comfortable walking
• Is dermatologically tested (insole)
• Is water resistant
I dunno about your feet but mine are pretty rough. I’ll spare you photos…
It’s not that they’re callused or any of that nasty stuff, they’re just hard as hell. Like 2 week old unwrapped cheddar left on the top shelf of the fridge.
My issue with these revolutionary sandals is that… well… they look a bit generic don’t they? I wouldn’t really wanna pair them up with a maxi dress yano? And I’m not planning on any poolside holidays. Maybe I could wear them as slippers?
Scholl recommend that you wear these anatomically shaped monstrosities for 2hrs a day to fully appreciate the benefits.
I’m torn… I do love the sound of what they promise… I want baby soft feet! But I’m not sure that I wouldn’t feel like a resident of Cuckoo Land Mental Hospital shuffling down the corridor with a pair of those stuck to my trotters. Especially them white ones over there.
What do you guys reckon? Would you wear these in the quest for kissable tootsies? I can’t say I’m not tempted!
The New Scholl HydraStep Sandal (£24.99) is available in three colours – black, white and fuchsia in sizes 4/5, 6/6.5 and 7/8 – and is sold exclusively at select Boots stores, on www.boots.com and through the Scholl website.
The idea of them sounds promising but I couldn’t agree with you more on the look. How do they plan on getting the under 80 set to actually wear these things?! I’d never wear them out, I would as you’ve already suggested, wear them around the house for two hours a day all in the hopes of getting softer feet.
In fairness, I’ve seen uglier… though you’re right, they’re a bit old-fashioned!
i suppose they look better than crocs or men’s swimming pool flip flops. i think i’d wear them if i was at a camping site, in a filthy shower. 😛
Ugh, why would you even want to go camping? 😉
tell me about it. i was given for free (albeit last minute, well 3 weeks before) a ticket for V festival. I had to turn it down because of the prospect of camping petrified me. I can do log cabin or youth hostels and dormitory though. I need something more solid/insulating than canvas on my head 🙂
Wouldn’t they make your feet all… greasy/clammy? Think we’re going to need a review please!
Without knowing how long the gel would last and if it wouldn’t be a fungus breeding ground… No.
Not to mention they’re fugly. My grandmother would have loved the black ones.
i can’t help but think your feet would slip about it them? plus they are so ugly I think my boyfriend would move out if I got a pair =0/
x
Hilarious review!
Agreed- love the idea, but they could definitely be cuter. I’ve even seen some Crocs that are nicer! Why not just make inserts that we can put in our choice of shoe? Still, if I were to hear they work, I’m sure I could find 2 hours a day to wear them
aroud the house. Maybe even to the grocery…
I love the concept… I don’t like the look of them and I would not wear them outside =.=’ ..Maybe in the house though?! Fitflops, i find are tolerable – They’re not pretty but they’re comfy to wear at home =).
hmm, i love my FitFlops. and these look ordiary too. i am more interested in seeing how the soles are. Crocs die flat on me in 3 months and i fell and injoured. never worn Crocs since. will check these out.
jeez even if they’d shoved a flower on them they’d have been better. I have a pair (in ‘dental assistant white’) and yes, they do moisturise your feet….but I’d say if your feet are in a dire state with hard skin etc, they probably won’t do much. My feet are not in a bad way and defintitely became softer but I only wore them round the house!
mmmm sounds like a good concept. except the sweat from your feet usually keeps your foot bottyom moist. so would be a better idea if they could get moisture to the sides and heels where crustiness is plain to see for all.
Scholl please update the look. Think FitFlops and Avon have better style sandals.
Wahahaha I think my mother would so go for these! She suffers from hard feet too and worships at the altar of “comfy shoes”. She lives in her comfy flip-flops (I think they’re M&S) even in the winter.
I’ll have to mention these to her, and I think she’d find the price quite kind!
Actually I don’t think I would mind myself, they don’t seem that ugly to me, just not particularly sexy!
This is such an interesting concept, and I have to say I’m intrigued 🙂
xoxo
I laughed SO HARD at this:
“But I’m not sure that I wouldn’t feel like a resident of Cuckoo Land Mental Hospital shuffling down the corridor with a pair of those stuck to my trotters. Especially them white ones over there.”
I’m very tempted… I might even get them to wear round the house (I always wear slippers round the house, I’m never barefoot. It’s an asian thing). Who cares if they look like crap then! xxx
I love the concept, it’s very intriguing and promising. But I agree with you on the look, they’re ugly. I don’t think I would ever wear them.
I read a positive review of them and I really hope they come to the US. Yeah, ugly – the other blogger said so, too. But if they work, I’d defintely wear them at home. I live in Texas it’s too hot here 10 months out of the year to sleep with socks and moisturizer on. I tried wearing moisturizer with socks on around the house, but it was still hot and gross. I’d try these out and see.
I think the idea is great but they really are ugly! I spend most of my time at home so i could just wear them around the house but even in the height of summer i tend to get really cold feet :/
Also your description of the hard cheese feet is hilarious and so so gross XD
OK, I have to know: What happens when the moisturizing gel runs out? Or when it goes bad? :-\ The shoes aren’t very cute, I must agree. Maybe it’s Dr. Scholl’s way of one-upping Crocs, since I heard feet get pretty sweaty and stinky in those?
Hi
I have used these for a while now, only inside the house tho and they do work, only thing I want to know is is how do you know when moisturing stuff has run out
and no they dont leave your feet greasy.
