Remember this post? I hinted at today’s Wahanda Mob Deal.
How cool (and completely freaky) is this?
Aqua Sheko are offering a 30 minute fish pedicure treatment for a pretty amazing price of £12. Saving 60% off the usual price of £30. I’m in London and away from home today and tonight, but if I can get my iPhone working on the Wahanda site, I’m totally in!
From the Wahanda site:
The Garra Rufa, a native Turkish fish are also known as doctor fish, the tiny toothless carp thrive in warm water and live off anything available – including dead, flaking skin.
I’m having an “OMG that’s gross but I wanna try it anyway” moment. I’m guessing that if you’re REALLY ticklish, you may want to give this one a miss… but I kinda like it *blush*.
Mr. L hates anything touching his feet, so I think I’d be going on my own… which doesn’t sound half as much fun – spoilsport!
Anyone else up for a nibble? I mean bite? I mean… um…. anyone else fancy it?
Just booked my appointment for next week! Yeah, I’m going alone too.. I think everyone I know would be too grossed out by it.. I’m ticklish as hell but I can’t wait to try this!
Hee hee, you can have this done in Camden but its a lot less glamorous than this!
I’ve been wanting a fish pedicure for agggesssss! But im scared i’ll squirm too much and hurt the wee fishies.
I am addicted to pedicures, particularly during the summer when flip flops seem to destroy my heels, however this is one thing I won’t be going for.
I’m super hygiene conscious and this just doesn’t seem hygienic to me. At least when you have a normal pedicure they can sanitise the foot spa and heat treat the tools or throw them away. How do you sanitise some smelly fish that have been sucking at someone elses toes?
I’m sure the fish could spread infections. I read that the salon covers feet with plasters for anyone with open wounds, but what about tiny cuts in the feet that you can’t see.
They’ve already banned the treatment in 14 US States.
Maybe it’s just me being a bit OCD, but count me out on this one!
I do love Wahanda though, being a London resident it’s perfect!
I’m just waiting until my hair needs it’s next cut so I can use a hair voucher that I got for a cut and blow for £19. Luckily it is valid for 6 months! 🙂
I realyl want to try this but I get REALLY tickly wen things touch my feet!
Hi Charlotte, ive just purchased this treat for me and my mum, however im not familiar with how this site works, can you explain it to me pls, do i just take the voucher to this spa and thats it or is there other things i need to know before i go? Thank you
@Kimberley – The email I got from Wahanda after ordering says this…
~ Click the button below to access your e-voucher.
~ Print off the voucher page.
~ Call the venue in advance to make your appointment. Then head on down to the venue, present your printed e-voucher on arrival and use as payment.
Hope that helps lovely! x
@Janie – la la la la I can’t hear you! Now, I’m gonna have to go and google what you told me, I don’t like the sound of that… especially the banned bit :/
Thanks for telling us though, will have a quick research x
Looks like a fun place to take kids, they’d be laughing the whole time
Thanks Charlotte! Just booked for 26th August @ 1:30- so if you still have no-one to go with, i’ll be there, would be nice to meet you. So excited, have seen this recently in the press, and have wantedt to try it, and at less than half price, think we are all winners! Hope your having a good day doll. x
I really would love to try it but i am so shy doing anything like this is just scary 🙁
I bet the fishies love it, a great source of yummy dead skin for their little fish tummies 😀
If I could get to London any time soon I would definitely have one of these!
From the very first time I heard about this treatment I’ve been intrigued. But I’m the type of person who has a hard time even swimming in lakes because of the fish-skimming-past-me factor. So I’m far too wimpy and creeped out to do it. But I cannot wait to hear all about your experience. 🙂
When I was out our friend’s lakehouse, the minnows come and nibble off your dried skin (for free – well, I don’t own the lakefront property). It felt weird, like I had an insect on me and I constantly looked down to make sure there wasn’t something else “kissing”. interesting though and between the sand and the fish, my feet and legs looked pretty good afterwards. =)
