Sleek MakeUP i-Divine Circus Palette

Posted by Lipglossiping On May - 7 - 2010

Truly excited by this…

It’s gorgeous no?  I dug it out of my goody bag that I was given at the Sleek MakeUP blogger event this week.

I’m loving the new Sleek i-Divine cardboard sleeves… not so much the coloured cases, but the sleeves are a total win for me!

Visible from outer space.

It’s a bright palette… I personally wouldn’t wear these as eyeshadows… but I’d buy it anyway, ‘cos these are gonna make some cracking Summer eyeliners.  I’ve already worn both blues blended tightly along the lashline… fabulous!

Like the Bohemian palette before it, the Sleek Circus palette contains a mixture of shimmer and matte shades.  Mostly heavily pigmented (with 2 exceptions) this is an exciting selection.  It’s exciting because it’s pushing the boundaries of my comfort zone… without going too far.  It’s not the acid palette… I couldn’t wear that one.  This, I can work with… it’ll spice things up nicely!

Here’s a quick colour description of the shades…

1. Guava Pink (Matte)
2. Purple (Shimmer)
3. True ‘shrimpy’ Pink (Matte)
4. White (Matte)
5. Bright Yellow (Matte)
6. Fuschia (Slight Shimmer)
7. Black (Matte)
8. Greyed Lilac (Matte)
9. Chartreuse (Shimmer)
10. Azure Blue (Matte)
11. Midnight Blue (Shimmer)
12. Orange (Matte)

They will be getting named in due course by one of the lucky bloggers who won the opportunity at the event!

4 & 8 are crapola.  Heavily swatched, I’m just not getting any colour payoff from them dry or wet.  They’re write-offs unless you have incredible patience.  I’m not bothered about the white, but it’s a shame that the lilac is so disappointing… it’s an interesting shade.

Stand out shades for me are: 1, 2, 5, 9, 10 and 11.

Infact, I’d buy the palette for 11 alone.  It’s perfection.

The Sleek Circus Palette will be released in June, what do you guys think?  Impatient or Indifferent?

Er, indifferent on this one I’m afraid! Definitely not colours I could work with at all. The cardboard sleeve looks like they’ve used the same colours as a Cadbury’s Creme Egg wrapper! No 2 is the only colour I think I could do any justice with. Worst colour has got to be No 5, looks like mustard powder.

Looking forward to hearing all about your London excursion though!

  2. Jennifer says:

Ooh I have been waiting for you post on this, your pictures are the best! Actually I think I like it, I didn’t think I would but seeing your swatches makes me want it.

  3. *wipes drool from chin* Holy Moly #11 is gorgeous.

  4. Georgie says:

LOVING it. The cardboard sleeve is just amazing. Can’t wait :).

    xoxo

  5. Allie says:

11 is gorgeous! I think I’ll add it to my little collection of Sleek palettes.

  6. Arianna says:

amazing colors! Too bad the lilac isn’t very pigmented =(
    anyway, thanks for swatches! ^_^

    xx

  7. caz says:

    Oh I need it! 1 + 3 ! Yum

  8. Ms.Wedgie says:

My inner child is screaming ‘ooooh pretty colours….WANT NOW!’ lol

Definately worth it for 2, 9 & 11! 4 is a complete load of cobblers though – you can’t see anything at al!!
    xx

  9. Gemma says:

Love it, need it, want it!
I will most definately be purchasing this beauty come June!
    I want it NOW! Impatient!

  10. liloo says:

I have been waiting for this moment even since I first heard of the circus palette: for you to get your hands on it, and review it. Yay, thank you so much 🙂 of course I will get this, I love collecting the sleek palettes but I can’t hide my disappointment.
Grr, how come they have not been named already, now,yet again, I need to refer to the colours by number :S
Only 4 colours stand out to me: 2, 9 and 11
I will probably like 6 and 11 too although 6 seems to be a little chalky.
    1,3,4, and 8: really unimpressed.
I’ve got a lot more to say (fingers are itching to write 2000 characters inspired by those photos alone) but I am leaving them for my own review when I purchase this palette. LOL
thank you son much for doing this for us. xx

  11. Claire says:

#9 is rather lovely, but not quite lovely enough to buy the whole palette as I wouldn’t get the use out of it.
That said, I get on quite well with their palettes…. well apart from the fact they don’t survive being dropped very well

  12. The first thing I though before reading the title was – she’s reviewing a chocolate bar? That’s what the new sleeve looks like, some strange cheap chocolate you’d buy in a European market place. Colour wise, I’m not excited, the only sleek palette originals in this palette look to be 1, 3, 8, 12 and 5.

  13. I’m definitely impatient – didn’t know about this one until I read your post, but it looks gorgeous!

  14. Martha says:

I just got into Sleek palettes, and I might want this! Thanks for the excellent photos and review.

  15. Tamara says:

OMG!!! Im so getting that…like TOMORROW!!! xxxxxxx

  16. liloo says:

p.s and i love your hairy hand 😛

  17. Ashwini says:

Agreed, #11 makes the pallete what it is. I’d LOVE to apply it wet as an eyeliner!

  18. Helen says:

    Oh I love 11 – and 2 and 9 as well….all the shimmer ones funnily enough !

would probably use 10 quite a bit as well…

Can I justify buying for just the 4 colours though…….decisions decisions…..

  19. Mz More says:

This is sooooooo pretty. I want it!

  20. Leanne says:

I’m dying to publish my post for this but I don’t wanna spam Sleek posts… Gah D: I did a look with 2, 3, 6, 10 and 11 today. I was really disappointed by the two crappy ones too, I’d sorta hoped it was just mine had dried out a bit but it seems as though it’s every one 🙁

  21. Zerin says:

Great Post! I recently got a few of these palettes. I would love to try this new one out as well. I’m loving # 9.

  22. Anitacska says:

Oh I don’t know. I usually buy the Sleek palettes because of the shimmery shades as I’m not a big fan of mattes. So I probably won’t get this. But then again, even if I only use 2, 9 and 11, it’s still a very good deal. My local Superdrug doesn’t stock Sleek and I didn’t find the last LE palette in either of the other Superdrugs I’d visited in the area, so might not actually have the opportunity to get it. I wish they did these colours with shimmer though, they would love amazing! Then I would definitely hunt it down, lol! 🙂

  23. Cait says:

2, 3 and 11 look amazing!! i will be getting this one!! 🙂
    xx

  24. Fabulous! Now if I can only figure out the use of that yellow Pout Polish!

  25. gio says:

I’ve been impatiently waiting for this since I first heard of the Circus palette a few months ago. The colors are so gorgeous and bright, totally up my alley. It’s a shame the lilac is not more pigmented, it look so pretty in the pan. But the other colors look great and I can’t wait to get my hands on this palette.

  26. Lillian says:

Oh god… i want this so so so much. I’m obsessed with the circus and that coupled with beautiful bright colours makes me a very happy girl! I’m so jealous of you. 😛 I can’t wait for the neon pout polishes either.

  27. Rae says:

Oh my goodness, this *is* gorgeous! I so wish Sleek sold over on this side of the pond. I’m jealous 😉

  28. Kat says:

I haven’t tried any of the Sleek Palettes, I may just have to get this one when it comes out. Number 9 is so pretty!

  29. I think you’re right about 11, and 2 is lovely as well. I really hope my almost-local Superdrug gets this one in, I haven’t seen the Bohemian one in there yet!

  30. liloo says:

you have cut your nails haven’t you 🙂 x

  31. kyanvi says:

i think i will go to superdrug to have a look, but depends on the day they release as i will still in exam stress…argh!

  32. Beth says:

Oh my god I want this. I love the Sleek pallettes because I think they’re such a bargain and a really nice quality product.

I’ll definitely be keeping my eye out for this one!

  33. Kristen says:

Oh wow the shimmer colours are incredible! I think i could work with some of the matts, but others..MEH. Would have been better to have mixed some nice light shades to work with the brights as highlighters.

Wish i could depot some of the pans from various palettes and create my own perfect palette, but the powders are so soft they just crumble….yes ive tried. I had to press the sods back into their pans lol

  34. Lora says:

I love 11.. I agree, I’d buy just for that. Is this going to be priced the same as all the other palettes? x

  35. Tanya says:

I have only got one other palette from sleek (Graphite) but I do want Bohemian but this one I NEED! No question about it those colours are stunning especially 2,9 and 11.
Not so keen on the red casing though if I’m honest, I much preferred the sleek black packaging. I guess it does help to differentiate between the different palettes though.

    Great post & swatches
    xx

  36. Jo says:

Wow, I love it! Gahhh, Sleek palettes *drool*
    I especially love 2, 9, 10 and 11

  37. I love the colors in this palette! All except the two bad ones and probably black. I can’t get black to work well on my skin tone. I usually look exhausted or that icky heroin chick look.

These yummy colors show why I hated griege so much. 😀 I live for bright colors. Especially eye shadows.

  38. Is it just me, or does the cardboard packaging look like a Cadbury block of chocolate? XD

  39. Redtiger21 says:

It does look exciting, but i’m not sure I could do much with any of the colours!

  40. Shamini says:

Not indifferent nor impatient, but I will definitely get it. I’m in love with Sleek MakeUP palettes (and I’m actually a MAC addict), so my “OCD” won’t allow me to pass on one. I like the look of it, although I thought the red palette seemed a little bit tacky – but I have to agree with you on what you said about 11. being a reason to pick up this palette. 😀

  41. Mika chan says:

I hope you don’t mind, but I’m re-blogging this (and of course linking back to you!) Thanks! <3

  42. Annette says:

***drools*** oooOooo… you guys are so lucky to have access to those great products… how I wish we have those in the US… ugh!!! sucks!! hahaha…. that palette is awesome though!! great bright colors!! I love it!!!
