…introducing INM’s Out The Door quick-dry top coat.
Recommended to me by the lovely Jamilla from Makeup for Professional Asian Women which, btw is a must-read for her inspiring and regularly updated posts.
INM’s Out The Door is a serious contender to the Seche Vite crown… firstly, I’m gonna come right out and say that this stuff doesn’t dry my nails as fast as Seche Vite. I’ll be surprised if anything does. But, it does dry them respectably quickly. I also find the texture of the product makes it far easier to apply.
I know that Seche Vite suffers from thickening, but even comparing this to a new bottle of the Seche, INM’s Out The Door applies beautifully smoothly… it’s as if I’m coating my manicure with water rather than polish.
In the time it takes me to ‘top coat’ all my nails, the first will be touch dry by the time I’m finished. Not dent-dry however… this takes about another 10-15 minutes to fully harden. Which is fine for me, I just take a little more care and haven’t had any problems yet.
Where the INM Out The Door blows Seche outta the water is with shrinkage. I haven’t experienced even a millimetre of unnecessary tip wear with this top coat.
Less pungent smelling and easier to apply makes for a happy Lipglossiping. I often decide to paint my nails about half an hour before bed, and I haven’t had any problems with duvet imprints!
Availability and price is also an issue as this seems to be a little easier to get hold of in the UK than Seche Vite. Price varies but I’ve found it here for a bargain price of £3.95.

Talk of timing, I went to buy a bottle of seche vite at boots cos there was an offer on points and no.7 vouchers. The bottle looks so cute, and I love the name. How affordable is this. Love the sound of ‘it looks like you’re applying water’ business.

Have you tried Poshe as well? I haven’t tried this one yet, but I am currently rating Poshe higher than SV.
Sounds fantastic to me, i’m too poor/cheap to pay th £7ish pounds for Seche 😛
Hmm I know everyone is swearing to Seche Vite’s top coat… but I have to say its not anything near Orly’s Sec N Dry top coat.. that is by far the best I have ever tried.. Have you tried it?
I discovered INM when out in the US on business last year. It’s so popular over there that I picked it up in a supermarket with some OPI polishes (yes they sell OPI in supermarkets!!!) and I seriously paid around $5 if not less.
Definitely worth picking up when you’re over there.
Unfortunately though it is the same as Seche in that it dries out quickly. Although I don’t think it is as quick… Thank GOD for your post on Seche Restore to rectify that though 🙂
Ps: My OPI Shrek collection arrived today, will you be sporting some swatches soon? I’d love to see how they look on your nails with your photography!

I LOVE this stuff. In the US we can buy it at Sally’s and it is much cheaper than Seche. Not to mention this stuff dries my nails rock hard where Seche always peels my polish:( Anyway- if you girls can get your hands on it, I would go for it! Also, try to hind the holographic nights topcoat they make, it is GORGEOUS over any polish.
I’ve been looking for a replacement for Seche, I was put off SV by my Stepmum using it in her jewellery making because it’s so strong!
Oooh if I can get my hands on this at all, I’ll totally do it. I’ve avoided buying Seche Vite because I find it ridiculous that I’ll have to buy a thinner in advance to be able to use it 😐
Shame that website you got it from charges £3.45 postage 🙁 makes it still fairly pricey from there at £7.40
@Becca – I got mine from eBay, but I don’t like linking to eBay sellers ‘cos their stock changes so frequently and links go out of date quickly, but check eBay!
