I picked this Paris Berlin Eyeliner Pen up sometime late last year when I made an online Kryolan order. I can’t remember where I bought it from, but I paid less than £5 for it.
I like to have a “felt tip” type eyeliner pen available to me as I find them my favourite to work with when I’m attempting a more structured look. By structured, I mean one that usually involves a flick, lots of mascara and a bright lip!
The packaging is plain, simple and functional and the pen is solidly constructed with a standard, easy to hold barrel. The tip is beautifully precise without being too sharp. I love the way the fibres of the tip flex under pressure which avoids dragging or scratching over the eyelid. However, they hold together with no splaying… keeping the line straight and true.
I think the formula could do with being just a touch darker, it’s so close to being a true oily black… but close isn’t quite good enough.
Pigmentation is pretty solid, I usually go over twice to build up colour to an optimum level. I haven’t found a problem with this liner smudging at all – it fades quite evenly over time.
Overall, it’s a great liner for less than a fiver and better than any of the high-street branded versions that I’ve tried. It’s a pro product which you should be able to find online with a quick google search. I’ve had this about 6 months now and it’s showing no signs of drying out.
Do you have a favourite liquid liner pen?
I am awful at lining with liquid liners on my own eyes. My eye usually freaks out and blinks and liner gets all over the place. Of course, I’m fine with applying on others. Very frustrating!
Hi! First time commenting. I really like your writing!
I never got into liquid liners; they’re too harsh on my own eyes, and also my hand is wobbly and I generally wind up a disaster area! Gel liners are much easier for my shaky hands. 😛 What eyeshadow are you wearing on your lid area in this photo? It looks like my kind of color!
I think I’m going to try a felt tip liner next, I’m a bit fed up of liquid liners. I’ve just bought Rimmel Glam Eyes in ‘Intense Plum’ and ‘Diamond Kiss’ and they are pretty bad, the applicators are too thin, it takes ages to build up a good flash of colour and most worringly the liquid actually stings and burns for a few minutes when I put it on. I made my friend try it too and she had the same problem…. eek!
Oooh, how fab is this! I love felt tip liners, My fave is the maybelline line definer, but that’s because it’s the only one I have tried and that I feel in love with. I think it’s running out now though, so maybe I’ll try this! x
Ooh! This looks wonderful — I’ve always wanted to try a felt-tip like this one, but haven’t yet. And your EOTD! I die.
I’m currently using the ELF waterproof eyeliner pens from their dollar line. I’m actually pretty happy with them. They aren’t to scratchy or harsh. The pen seems to get a little frayed (not sure how to describe) sometimes but I can kinda trim it off. They are the first thing I’ve ever been able to do a winged eyeliner with. Only 2 complaints, definitely not waterproof and def don’t work on the waterline, and the colors are all the same!! I got it in a black and liked it so got it in ash and midnight and I swear you can barely tell the difference!
Oh my! What eyeshadow are you wearing? The whole look is beautiful!
Ooooh looks good. I’ve never tried a pen style liquid liner, but I was playing with the MAC Penultimate one at the counter and I really liked it, so hopefully I’ll get around to buying one one day.
@Ciambella & Marley – thank you! It’s a Fyrinnae mineral eyeshadow called Atomic Afterglow x
I love black eyeliner on you! My personal fave is MAC Penultimate.
Oh I mihgt try that next then. my current liquid liner is a little Avon one, but after using it less than a dozen times it seems like it’s running out already. Rubbish.
I adore the eyeshadow you are wearing. What is it called?!
Oh gosh, I can’t remember but it looks like a violet/mauve toned taupe…
