…for easy glitter nail polish removal.
No more endless wiping and scraping to get the glitter polish off your nails. No more sighing and soaking of fingers in pure acetone till your cuticles shrivel up and you develop hang nails that reach your elbows.
At least, that’s what 2 of my lovely readers promised. Meganne, and Lisa – to give credit where it’s due.
so it goes something like this…
1). Take your cotton wool and dampen it with nail polish remover. I like to make it quite soggy… I don’t wanna have to be doing this more than once ‘cos I haven’t got enough remover on the pad yano?
2). Hold the soaked cotton wool to your nails and wrap a bit of foil over the top…
It’s at this point you’re wondering if you’re actually the butt of a big fat joke.
Wait 5 minutes, no less… and then remove.
I can happily report – it works! As ridiculous as you may look with your tin foil tips, it saves a hell of a lot of effort and irritation.
Try it! If nothing else, at least the aliens won’t get to your fingers.
This is how i remove my gel nails too, works a treat 🙂 x
I tried this for the first time a couple of weeks ago… and was truly amazed! I really didn’t think it would work, and was so shocked haha.
xxxx
I use this for all my nail polish as it’s much easier than scrubbing them and saves quite a bit of nail polish remover 🙂 It makes me feel like I have robot hands though! x
Interesting. Thanks for sharing!
Wow thats quite a good idea, thanks for passing it on x
I passed this along to my friend, she wears glitter polish all the time. Or, as she calls it ‘stripper polish’.
If only I had known about this post this morning! I spent nearly 15+ mins trying to take of some industrial glitter off my nails! Will definitely try this trick next time I have some glitter nail polish on.. Thank-you!
And thanks to vexinthecity for telling me about this post! 🙂
Thanks for writing this! I’ve heard of using tin foil to remove glitter polish before, but had no idea how to do it (i was imagining rubbing the foil over your nails!)
sounds a bit painful, like my nails will feel soggy but i can totally understand why it works 😉
It really does work! I had to do it last week and will be doing it tonight to get this Mad as a Hatter off! x
What great advice! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Brilliant! I’ve been trying to figure out how to keep my nails safe from the aliens for aaages 😛
What a great idea! Thanks for sharing.
I’m definitely trying this when I’ve next got glitter polish to remove! I managed to get it off quickly last time by soaking my fingers in a small dish of remover but this looks way less wasteful. Thanks!
Thanks for this, just tried it on my toes and it really does work!
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS TIP! As much as I love glittery nail polish, it’s definitely a pain to remove… I’m definitely trying this tip! =DD
Yay! You tried it 😀
It’s amazing, you don’t even need acetone remover for glitters using this technique.
Oh wow! I cannot wait to try this!!
Ah ha! I found you again. I read this post a while back and forgot where I found it. This trick is awesome and really has saved me damage to my nails. Thank you for posting this. I showed a tutorial on my blog and gave your original post credit. Thanks again! You rock! http://www.pinksith.com/2010/03/glitter-nail-polish-removal-made-simple.html
Thanks for this trick. I need it badly, since I really hate having to remove flakies as well as glitters, and now with the OPI Burlesque polish glitters coming out, I will feel whole lot better knowing I have a new easier way to remove the glitters.
Thanks for sharing this! I’m new to glitter polishes and have been having a heck of a time getting them off…this looks much easier! I was getting really tired of rubbing my entire nail bed off just to remove my polish.
