ho ho ho…. or not.
I have been given the green light to ask a bonafide (and rather lovely) Benefit counter manager some questions about her job as MUA to the “rich, famous and downright ugly” (her words not mine!)
She’s recently launched a shiny new counter and I’ve been following her tweets, stunned by the sheer amount of hard work and effort opening and promoting a new counter takes. I don’t know how this lady drags herself out of bed in the mornings!
Do you have any questions you’d like to put to her? Wanna know what the latest and greatest Benefit products are? Curious about the company’s sales tactics? From what distance can she spot a sample hunter?
Check back soon for the interview and Q&A.
Ooh looking forward to it )
Oh yes – ask her the sample thing, can they tell when someone has no intention of buying? I always think they must develop radar for those people.
I have one! What am I meant to do with Eye Bright? I remember the Benefit Lady using it on me and I was impressed. Now it just bemuses me. I seem to lose the knack with Benefit products sometimes, I used to swear by Benetint and now I just can’t make it work.
I’d love to know what is their policy on sampling ?
Hi 🙂
I wonder if you could ask about the lack of colour range for darker skinned people? I personally fit into the current range (being a pale paula!!) but I’ve always wondered!
I also wondered if you could ask about the importance of the packaging and overall marketing of the brand versus the overall quality of the products?? (in the nicest way possible!!!)

I definitely want to know about the sampling thing, their sanitisation processes, their sales tactics + training, and like Laura said, I’d like to know why dont really cater to dark skinned people at all.
[…] I also draw your attention back to the questions for a Benefit MUA post? I’m compiling an email for her this weekend, so it’s your last […]
Oh and i’d also like to know what the career progression is like if you start out as a Benefit MUA in a counter/store? Can you get higher up the ladder as a Benefit makeup artist and what kind of opportunities does it present (fashion shows, photoshoots, etc)? Or is the career progression directed more towards managerial, sales or marketing positions?
On that note about opportunities like fashion shows and photoshoots, I know MAC artists can’t use the photos in their personal portfolios because MAC owns the rights to them – I’m wondering if Benefit has the same sort of policy or not. That is, if they even have senior artists that they license out to do that kind of work.
Since UD partnered up to do the Alice in Wonderland product, I was wondering if Benefit have ever done or plan to do the same? I know I probably shouldnt be making all these comparisons in my questions to other brands, but basically I just wanna know if they’ll ever partner with a movie or tv show or book or SOMETHING.
I know she’s a counter manager and not like CEO of the company but if she can answer any of these questions just a little bit I’d be stoked 🙂
Hi!
Can you ask her what she feels is benefit’s most universally flattering product is? (eyeshadows cannot be an answer! hehe)
