This has been on my hitlist for a little while, and was confirmed to me as a must have by GossMakeupArtist’s post on brushes here. I use a lot of cream foundation in the winter and have struggled to find a brush that I *love* to use with my foundations.
Any of you lovelies own one of these or any other Shu brushes? At $39 dollars, this brush isn’t cheap… but we all know that sometimes it’s worth paying more for good quality brushes right? What brushes do you use for cream foundations?
I got my Louise Young LY34 round foundation brush for Christmas (which I had been lusting after for months) and I absolutely love it. Its got a really large head so it is so quick to do your foundation.
Her brushes are definitely worth having a look at 🙂
@TalluluhBella – I’m curious about those Louise Young brushes, have been wondering about them for ages! Glad to hear a good review on them… Ill definitely take a look, thank you! x
Oh that looks cute. You’ll be able yo pick something similar up at the IMATS.
Of course! I should have thought of that! You’ll have to help me find a suitable dupe!
Even by the photo i can see this is a good one!!
@Tali – you can just tell sometimes can’t you?!
i dont really use cream foundation anymore, but i did have a chanel one and i gave up trying to find a brush that worked well with it so i just used a sponge. i found that it gave me the best results
@Nicole – I shall try my beauty blender with it… and I enjoy using it for a really flawless finish with my liquid foundations, but it seems to take me such a long time to apply with a sponge. I guess that practice makes perfect!
I use a M.A.C. foundation brush. Also quite expensive, but it works really well. I always use cream foundations.
@Jessica – Cream foundations are great for the winter aren’t they?
I’ve had my eye on this one for quite a while myself- Cover FX makes one that seems pretty identical- for the same exact price. I use Illamasqua’s Rich Liquid, and a dense, short bristle brush that you can work in circular motions is a necessity. MAC’s 187 can’t even budge the stuff, and my 190 would get all bent out of shape if I moved it like I want to!
You’ve once again reminded me of something I need but am trying to pretend I don’t! 🙂
@Jessica – I’m not sure we get Cover FX in the UK? I’m gonna have a google… although at the same price I’ll probably end up going for the Shu.
Illamasqua’s rich liquid foundation is one I’m dying to try… full coverage all the way! Your comment has just made sense to me why my 187 won’t work well with my Estee Lauder Double Wear… however, this just makes me want the Shu brush more.
The natural uncut hairs on the Shu 18 makes all the difference. You only need a very tiny amount of product to get a flawless finish. I have never been a fan of foundation brushes before this one.
