First of all, look how indecently sunny it was on Christmas morning! After a week of snow and ice, I appear to have woken up in Barbados. Typical.
Barielle Decadence is the final polish that I was sent by the company. I wasn’t actually going to show you this one, ‘cos it’s a proper bright jeweled green and I thought that my skintone would do it absolutely no favours. However, I was looking for something Christmassy and this caught my eye.
Application (as with all the Barielles I’ve tried) was a dream. It’s a 2 coater and practically applied itself thanks to a smooth formula. I can’t quite tell if it’s a metallic or a shimmer… I think I’m gonna call it a bit of both.
Check out my glitter tips! Does this constitute ‘nail art’, have I dabbled for the first time without really meaning to?
So christmassy and pretty glitter! x
I love that green on you! The glitter tips are lovely 🙂
Lovely nail design! 🙂
The green is WOW! Love it. What did you use for your glitter tips? I did red glitter tips the other week, using Barry M Red Glitter and I had to take it off asap, I couldn’t bear the feeling of it just on the ends of my nails, if felt so scratchy! I am now wearing it all over my nails and it feels fine?!
Re the sun – ridiculous! The only day you really want it to snow and it suns!
xox
I love that teal…I like how Barielle applies as well but there was a light chalky gray that was a bit of a pain in the rear.
how do you do tips, do you have something specific you use to cover the rest of the nail?
yous nails looks so pretty and this nail color suits you 🙂
Those glittery tips are beautiful! What polish did you use for those- was it the Ruby SLippers?
that color is gorgeous !
I have been lurking your blog and even thought of join the giveaways but i am one lazy bum when it comes to giveaway so i didn’t in the end… just want to say that you are ulatra generous for doing these.
and i love love love this green on your nails!
happy holiday.
@M – You gotta have a bit of glitter at Xmas!
@Sirvinya – Thank you! xx
@Sugar – Thanks Chicka! xx
@GoldenTouch – I used a generic eBay nail art pen, lemme find a link – it’s those type ones.
Yeah, I can’t bear the scratchy feeling either.. I plastered 2 top coats over the glitter tips so I wouldn’t feel it! xxx
@Citrine – I haven’t tried any of their lighter colours (and I had my eye on the greys and putty shades too!) – I do find that some paler colours do show up quite chalky, I wonder why that is? THanks for the heads up!
@Paloma – Hey, I fully painted the nail with the Barielle shade, then once dry I used a nail art pen freehand to draw the tips on and finished with a couple of top coats. This is the glitter pen I used, it was really easy to get an even line, and the one time I did make a teeny mistake I was quick enough to hook the blob of glitter off before it set!
@Makeupdivaa – Thank you lovely xxx
@Redtiger21 – Hello chicka! I used a nail art pen from eBay – It’s a lot thicker and gloopier than normal polish so quite easy to apply like this.
@Nicole – Thank You! xxxx
@Jojoba – I feel a bit starstruck now! I’ve loved, loved, loved your blog for the last couple of years and have been a lurker for so long. You have the most amazing reviews that have both saved my money and helped me part with it… you’ve created more lemmings for me than anyone on the internet. Thanks for commenting and making my Christmas! xxx
Woah, usually I don’t like it when people say they’ll do a crimbo look – and end up plopping on a bright green and a bright red on their eyes and blend it until it looks like mud – but you’ve made the colours work on your nails! I love the whole glitter thing going on – I was just imagining it on my nails and, well, I likey…. 😉
But I love the green colour, I might get it sometime. Emphasis on ‘sometime’ and ‘might’. Haha 🙂
@Dv – Thank you! Yes… I understand, there’s 1001 things to want and need and we usually end up with about 10 of them, always too much stuff to desire! xxx
omg! your nails are amazing, ur so creative, i wish i saw this sooner lol
