I’m *nearly* over the whole matte top coat thing… a couple more mani’s then I’ll be able to move on.
This is Barielle’s Shades range in “Grape Escape” – It’s gorgeous. It’s actually better glossy… but well, I’m a mattifying sheep.
Application is smooth – this is 2 coats. No issues to speak of, perhaps a touch slow drying… but nothing a quick-dry top coat doesn’t fix.
Desperate to check out some more colours… looks like they have a lovely A/W collection out at the moment. Let me introduce you…
Putt-E-On-Me – Classic clay
Blackened Bleu – Black with turquoise glitter
Lava Rock – Black with red pearl swirl
I don’t even like glitter and I’m salivating at the thought of the black/turquoise one!

That is a lush shade of purple! Never heard of Barielle though. But as you’ve given it the thumbs up, I may have to try it 🙂 Where can you get them from? Never been a fan of the matte nail polish look but this actually looks good 🙂 I think you may have converted me! Was this a matte polish or did you use a special type of top coat? xx

As for mattifying, I’m sure you know you can get matte top coats, but I’m cheap and used Nail Tek’s Foundation II (which is a ridge filler) on top of the polish to mattify. I bought my Nail Tek on eBay, very reasonable!
@Jo – hahaa, I have filed them down now, they’re still long – just not *so* long.
Barielle are great, I emailed them asking if the fall shades were still available as I couldn’t add them to my basket, they said that they were and looked into the problem for me (hence my delay in replying to you lovely lot).
I’m really liking some of these Fall shades though.

@Rhamnousia – Barielle do a matte top coat you should check out. It’s a far more cost effective way of dipping your toe into the matte phenomenon without spending a fortune!
My nails are really strong, they’ve always been able to resist lots of knocks, scuffs etc. I just have to make sure there are no sharp edges or baby gets a scratch on the thigh mid nappy change… cue incredibly guilty Mum. 🙁
